- To inspect all types of vehicle before registration
- To identify the usage of vehicles before registration
- To eliminate multiple registration of vehicle with criminal/security concern.
- To carry out forensic investigation on the vehicles with multiple chasis number

The Accident investigation unit is responsible for carrying out an accident report in conjunction with the Nigeria Police force and give comprehensive accident report on the cause of the said accident
The unit mobilizes to visit the accident scene to carry out an investigation.
